Google Giving YouTube A Boost? (GOOG, NFLX)

Google GOOG may be about to give Youtube a huge boost. YouTube is in talks to buy video producer Next New Networks, which would bring drastically better videos to the site and continue to bring in significant advertising revenue. Next New Networks is best known for its Web comedy shows like "Barely Political." According to sources, YouTube wants Next New's video development and partnership for smaller video producers to improve the quality of content on the site. Next New has raised approximately $27 million since it was founded. Backers include Spark Capital, Goldman Sachs, Saban Capital Group and Fuse Capital. If this is able to significantly add to Youtube's contributions to Google, it could have an impact on Netflix NFLX, whose growth over the past few years has been nothing short of remarkable. Any kind of hit to growth could hurt Netflix shares immensely. Over the past year shares of the online rental service have returned 266%, and if investors feel even the slightest hint of growth compression, look out below.
