Auxilium Pharmaceuticals AUXL jumped 10.64% to $32.92 after Endo International ENDP announced its plans to acquire Auxilium Pharma in a cash and stock deal for $2.6 billion. Lakeland Industries LAKE shares rose 10.24% to $12.81 after gaining 15.85% on Wednesday. Exar EXAR climbed 7.82% to $9.24. Exar expected Q2 sales at or above the high end of its previously-issued range of $40 to $43 million. Kindred Healthcare KND jumped 6.81% to $21.08 after the company announced its plans to acquire Gentiva. Ballard Power Systems BLDP shares gained 3.70% to $3.08 after the company reported a multi-year fuel cell supply deal with Plug Power PLUG for forklift market. Alcoa AA shares rose 1.26% to $16.27 after the company reported stronger-than-expected third-quarter earnings. PepsiCo PEP shares jumped 1.15% to $95.02 after the company reported better-than-expected third-quarter earnings and lifted its earnings forecast for the year.
