AirPatrol CEO, Cleve Adams Joins Advisory Board of NICE Cyber Education Map

Cleve Adams, CEO of AirPatrol Corporation, a Sysorex SYRX subsidiary, and a developer of mobile device detection and locationing systems, has joined the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Cybersecurity Map's advisory board. The NICE Cybersecurity Map is an interactive US map that reveals cybersecurity job locations, the skills required, and training offered to applicants while increasing engagement with employers, academic institutions and industry. The project will officially launch at the 5th Annual NICE Conference and Expo November 5, 2014 in Columbia, MD. Kicking off November, which is National Cyber Security Awareness month, NICE is hosting a conference to connect the cybersecurity education system. With technology providers as well as members of government, education, banking, insurance and many more, the two-day conference is also launching the NICE Cybersecurity Map project. “When people think ‘cybersecurity' they often forget the majority of computers today aren't laptops or servers but the smartphones and tablets nearly everyone carries. Ironically, those devices are rarely subject to the same security standards we apply to traditional computers and networks,” Adams said. “I am pleased to join the advisory board of this revolutionary map to convey the mobile influence that should be taken into consideration while working with cyber initiatives, both local and nationwide,” he added. AirPatrol develops a security system called ZoneDefense that uses small sensors to detect and locate cellular and WiFi devices based on the signal they emit. ZoneDefense can anonymously discover all transmitting devices such as cell phones, tablets, laptops and more and precisely locate them within a few feet. The system is used in a broad variety of settings such as government agencies and enterprises around the world. We believe Adams' guidance to the NICE Cybersecurity Map advisory board on context-aware mobile will assist in bringing conversations about mobile in cybersecurity to new levels such as modifying the active security policy on a device based on where it is and even who is around. The NICE Conference and Expo will be held November 5th and 6th at the Sheraton Columbia Town Center Hotel in Columbia, MD.
