US Stock Futures Slightly Higher Ahead Of Economic Data

Pre-open movers US stock futures traded slightly higher in early pre-market trade. Data on consumer spending for April will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while the PMI manufacturing index for May will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET. The ISM Manufacturing index for May and construction spending data for April will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 14 points to 18,023.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 0.15 points to 2,106.15. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index gained 2.90 points to 4,513.90. A Peek Into Global Markets European markets were mostly higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 0.01 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index gaining 0.17 percent and German DAX 30 index dropping 0.11 percent. French CAC 40 Index gained 0.20 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.09 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.03 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index jumped 4.71 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index climbed 0.63 percent and India's BSE Sensex rose 0.07 percent. Broker Recommendation Analysts at Goldman Sachs upgraded Citigroup Inc C from Neutral to Buy and raised the price target from $57.00 to $61.00.
