The Stars Of Stock Market Media & Telecom Gather At CinemaCon 2017

CinemaCon is the world's biggest and most important gathering for the worldwide motion picture theater industry. The event kicked off in Las Vegas on Monday and will continue through Thursday.

CinemaCon says the purpose of its event is to "jumpstart the excitement and buzz that surrounds the summer season (and beyond) at the box office."

The event is attended by some of the biggest media and telecom companies in the world. Of course, movie fans can also find the event exciting as many studios will release footage or updates of much anticipated movies.

Here's a list of some of some of the notable presentations that might be of interest to investors with holdings in media, telecom, content creators and other relevant fields.

Wednesday, March 29

  • Comcast Corporation CMCSA's Universal Pictures will present footage from its upcoming movie slate. (9:15 a.m)
  • Presentation on how the film industry can introduce alcohol in movie theaters. (2:45 p.m.)
  • Time Warner Inc TWX's Warner Bros. will show an exclusive presentation of its upcoming movie slate. (4:30 p.m.)

Thursday, March 30

  • Presentation on how the media industry can best use social media and ad-sponsored initiatives to increase theater attendance. (8:30 a.m.)
  • Twenty-First Century Fox Inc FOXA will show a special presentation highlighting its future release schedule. (10:00 a.m.)
  • Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN's Amazon Studios unit will give an in-depth and exclusive look at their upcoming release schedule. (12:15 p.m.)
  • Lions Gate Entertainment Corporation LGF will feature a sneak peek for its "The Hitman's Bodyguard" film. (2:15 p.m.)
