SMITHFIELD, Va., March 19, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Smithfield Foods, Inc. SFD said today that the company's facilities across the United States received a total of 62 awards for their environmental and worker safety efforts from the American Meat Institute (AMI) Foundation.
The awards were announced during AMI's annual conference on Worker Safety, Human Resources and the Environment on March 14 in Kansas City, Mo.
