Expansion of Resources for Segal Rogerscasey Canada

John DeMairo, Chairman & CEO of Segal Rogerscasey Canada, has announced several executive appointments in the firm's Toronto office. In making these announcements, Mr. DeMairo said, “These important organizational changes for Segal Rogerscasey Canada reflect our plans to build our Canadian business for the future. We are confident that we have aligned critical skills and subject matter expertise within the organization, and we will continue to provide an integrated and high level of support and service to our clients.”

Appointments include:

Ruo Tan has been named President. Mr. Tan joined in 2010 as Senior Vice President and since then he has focused on expanding investment research, relationship management and client services. Prior to joining Segal Rogerscasey Canada, Mr. Tan had many years of senior-level experience in investment management with several large financial institutions in Canada. Mr. Tan holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from McMaster University's Michael G. DeGroote School of Business. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and is a registered Advisor – Portfolio Manager across Canada. He was a registered Commodity Trading Manager with the Ontario Security Commission (OSC) and was also registered under the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. (FINRA).

Kathleen Pabla has joined as Vice President and Director of Research. Ms. Pabla has more than 20 years of experience in the Canadian investment business. Most recently, she was Director of Investment Research and Analysis in Investment Management Services for Manulife Financial in Toronto. Her responsibilities included providing research and oversight of investments for pension platform (defined contribution plans) services at Manulife. Prior to that, Ms. Pabla had been Director of Investment Management Services at CIBC Asset Management, Inc. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst and was previously registered as a portfolio manager across Canada.

Nino Boezio has joined as Vice President, Portfolio Strategist and Consultant. Mr. Boezio has over 25 years of experience in investment strategy and research, portfolio advisory and governance, and pension and investment consulting. Most recently, he worked in the managed products area for TD Bank Group where he provided his expertise in asset allocation and investment/insurance product review/oversight, in addition to business development. Mr. Boezio previously has held positions at CIBC Asset Management, KPMG, Mercer and Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Boezio is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He was also registered under FINRA and as a portfolio manager with the OSC. At Segal Rogerscasey Canada, he is focusing on portfolio management, investment consulting and new business development.

Mr. DeMairo also announced that Robert Mitchell and Bill Hutchison retired from the firm during the summer after many decades of loyal and valuable service. He noted, “We thank Bob and Bill for their contributions and leadership to the organization including the establishment of Segal Rogerscasey Canada, and wish them a happy and healthy retirement.”
