LAKEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

FirstBank Holding Company, the Lakewood-based holding company for the largest locally owned banking organization in Colorado, today announced a new location at 2014 Grand Avenue in Glenwood Springs, Colo. The bank purchased a 2-acre site near the Safeway shopping center to house the 4,627 sq. ft. branch, which is scheduled to open Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Erin O'Keefe will serve as the Glenwood Springs Market President overseeing the new location. Senior Vice President Tom Ashley and Vice President Brendan Matthias will also manage the bank's day-to-day operations. FirstBank hired several local employees as well as relocated current employees to staff the branch.

“FirstBank has successful operations in Summit and Eagle county communities, so establishing a location in Glenwood Springs seemed like a natural progression,” said Erin O'Keefe, FirstBank Market President of Glenwood Springs. “The Roaring Fork Valley and nearby areas have proven to be a great market for us, given the high demand for more banking options and locations. We're happy to accommodate local customers looking for a well-capitalized, convenient, full-service and friendly community bank.”

The new location will offer a full range of checking and savings accounts, including FirstBank's eSave account package, which automatically transfers 1 cent up to $99.99 to customers' savings account each time they use a debit card, pay a bill electronically or transfer funds. The branch will also offer mortgages, home equity loans and a full range of commercial loans and business accounts and services.

The Glenwood Springs branch will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. FirstBank customers will also have the benefit of a 24-hour ATM, telephone banking and Free Internet Banking with eStatements at www.efirstbank.com.

FirstBank is highly active with local communities where its employees live and work. The company donated more than $4.2 million to Colorado nonprofits last year, making it the second most charitable corporation and most charitable bank in the state by annual cash donations. Recently, FirstBank contributed to Glenwood Springs organizations including CMC Calloway and the Roaring Fork Business Resource Center.

FirstBank continues to experience solid growth across its key financial measures. As of Sept. 30, 2012, the bank reported that total deposits increased to $11.08 billion, up 8 percent compared to the same period last year. Total loans also grew 20 percent from $4.89 billion to $5.87 billion during that same time.
