Weather Authority Supplies Premiere U.S. FBO Chain with Global Pilot Decision Support Tool

Andover, MA (PRWEB) October 24, 2012

WSI (Weather Services International), the aviation industry's most trusted aviation-weather-decision-support provider, today announced that Atlantic Aviation will provide WSI Pilotbrief Optima free of charge to pilots in each of Atlantic's Fixed Based Operator (FBO) flight planning offices. Atlantic Aviation is the largest FBO chain in the United States with 64 locations in the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest and West.

Incorporating all of WSI Pilotbrief, the foremost aviation weather tool in the industry, WSI PilotBrief Optima is an on-demand, anytime, anywhere, aviation-weather-solution that is relied upon by pilots around the world.

Atlantic Aviation will also rely on WSI Hubcast Alerting, a real-time airport decision support and lightning alerting tool. WSI Hubcast Alerting can warn ramp-personnel and customer service teams about changing weather that might impact airport operations and flight safety. Also by supplying overlaying Aircraft Situational Display (ASD) position reports, WSI Hubcast Alerting will enable Atlantic Aviation to track incoming flights.

“Having been a WSI client for over 10 years, we know that its innovative, global, weather products provide the tools that our pilots need for safe, efficient, flight operations and a safer, more convenient environment for our ramp agents and customers,” said Sue Sommers, Atlantic's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We value WSI's high level of support because it allows us to offer a better trip experience for our customers.”

Traditionally known by pilots for its Pilotbrief Pro preflight weather check, WSI's Pilotbrief Optima solution provides the highest quality weather information available via an easy-to-use, online portal. It features one kilometer (1km) HD Radar, HD Echo Tops and HD Satellite Imagery. Each feature can be overlaid with flight plans and airports-of-interest to provide pilots with the clearest flight planning picture possible. In addition, pilots with existing WSI accounts can sign-in to retrieve their personal information, such as saved flight plans.

Developing solutions to serve the global, mission-critical requirements of over 120 commercial airlines, WSI is also the only weather provider that offers seamless, global weather coverage and human-in-the-loop, FAA-certified forecasts for all phases of flight.

WSI will be demonstrating both WSI Pilotbrief Optima and WSI Hubcast Alerting at its Booth #4880, during the NBAA2012 Annual Convention, October 30 – November 1, in Orlando, FL. All are invited to visit the booth for presentations.
