Women Unite to Share Experiences - in the United for Human Rights Center

CLEARWATER, Fla., July 30, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The 21st of July saw the first in a monthly series of discussions about women's rights, The Slow Evolution of Women's Rights, at the United for Human Rights (UHR) Center in downtown Clearwater and featuring Mrs. Carmen Miller, a human rights advocate and attorney.  The UHR Center which is supported by the Church of Scientology hosted the event covering the history of women's rights violations in the United States and present day violations such as: unequal pay at work, discrimination, sexism on the Internet, and sexual abuse in the workplace which created the #Metoo campaign where countless women are speaking out and sharing their stories.

Women's Rights Discussed at United for Human Rights Florida Chapter
Mrs. Carmen Miller, attorney and former assistant Public Defender, presented "The Slow Evolution of Women's Rights", the first in a monthly series discussing women's rights at the Untied for Human Rights Center in downtown Clearwater supported by the Church of Scientology.


Mrs. Miller said, "I am hopeful that these discussions about issues facing women today will help us better understand each other and be a foundation for advancing women's rights in our community."

Cristian Vargas, the Executive Director of the UHR Center added his sentiments, "Women's Rights are Human Rights! We are all human beings and the very first article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that we are all born free and equal.  UHR is determined to make that a reality."
