Anaheim, California and Orlando, Florida have some exciting developments underway. With the success of the "Star Wars" franchise, it's no surprise that Walt Disney Co DIS's Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts are ushering in large "Star Wars"-themed lands.
Han Solo's Guest Appearance Preview
Harrison Ford, the iconic actor who has played Han Solo in both the original trilogy and the most recent "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," is slotted to preview Star Wars Land, according to ABC. As part of "The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60," airing February 21, Ford will share new details about the amusement park.
What Can Fans Expect?
Small details have been emerging over the last few months, following Disney's Star Wars Land announcement at the D23 Expo, and Disneyland has already broken ground on its 14-acre addition.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Disney Chairman and Chief Executive Robert Iger has commented, "The attractions, the entertainment – everything we create will be part of our storytelling. Nothing will be out of character or stray from the [‘Star Wars'] mythology."
In addition to a Millennium Falcon recreation, fans can expect to take part in a "battle between the First Order and the Resistance," the LA Times reported.
Beyond those two insights, details have been sparse, making the upcoming reveal by Ford all the more enticing.
At time of writing, Disney was trading down 1.49 percent at $92.92.
