Duke Energy Is Looking To Sell All Or Part Of Its International Energy Business

Duke Energy Corp DUK announced on Thursday that it is evaluating a sale of all or part of its International Energy business segment. Duke Energy stated that it is at a preliminary stage in exploring its options and no binding or non-binding offers have been requested or submitted. The company's international facilities consist of approximately 4,400 megawatts of capacity in power plants across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala and Peru. Duke Energy also noted that its 25 percent stake in Saudi Arabia-based National Methanol Company will not be included in any transaction. Shares of Duke Energy were trading nearly flat at $78.73 with less than 2 hours of trading remaining.
