Dollar General DG shares surged 10.79% to $64.25 on news of Carl Icahn's 9.39% stake in Family Dollar Stores FDO. The Hillshire Brands Company HSH rose 4.74% to $61.71 after Tyson Foods TSN announced it has submitted a unilaterally binding offer to buy Hillshire for $63 per share in cash.
