The Case-Shiller home price index for July showed that home prices across 20 major metropolitan areas in the U.S. rose 5 percent year over year easing from a 5.1 percent increase in June. It was the lowest gain since August of 2015. On the month the index rose 0.6 percent versus a 0.8 percent rise in June.
