Mina leads the Investment Team at Merida Capital Holdings, a private equity firm targeting fundamental growth drivers underpinning the rapid development of the cannabis industry. Merida manages over $250 million in assets across five funds and has more than 70 portfolio companies.
In his role, Mina is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence, portfolio analysis and management and sits on the firm’s Investment Committee. He serves on the board of several portfolio companies, including Canadian Rockies Hemp Corporation (Industrial), Cellibre (Biotech), EndoCanna Health (Healthcare), Henry’s Original (CPG), Phylos Bioscience (Biotech), and Sorse Technology (Biotech / CPG). Mina will also serve as the Chief Investment Officer of RePlant Rural America Fund I, a prospective USDA Rural Business Investment Company that will invest into agricultural technologies leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning, bio-based feedstock processing and manufacturing, and carbon credit monetization strategies.
Mina spent the bulk of his career doing Investment Banking advisory work, most recently at Deutsche Bank from 2006 to 2017, where he led the North American structured finance derivatives business. Mina obtained a B.S. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a Finance concentration. He is a CFA® Charterholder and a CPA (inactive). He resides in Philadelphia with his wife and three children.
