Nenad Yashruti is Director of the Board at Root Sciences and leads the company’s business development efforts. He is responsible for overseeing the business’s expansion into emerging global markets. Nenad is instrumental in developing partnerships with best-in-class manufacturers, such as VTA of Germany. Since entering the legal cannabis industry in 2013, Nenad has been featured in various cannabis publications, including Edibles and Dope magazine.  

Nenad Co-Founded Suspended Brands, one of the oldest license holders and first grow facilities in the state of Washington, and he also serves as the company’s Managing Partner and Board Member. Nenad has been instrumental in raising capital for launching these entities. 

Prior to entering the cannabis industry, Nenad spent 15 years as the Managing Director of Trading and Investment Operations at a multi-billion-dollar hedge fund in Seattle. Prior to that, Nenad served as Head of Trading and Trading Compliance for a Seattle-based brokerage firm with over 350 retail and institutional brokers. 

Nenad held FINRA licenses 7, 63, 55, and 24 and was a member of the Pacific Northwest Securities Traders Association. He studied business and finance at Washington State University and was an executive board member of the Seattle Security Traders Association from 2003-2012, serving as their President in 2011.
