Emma is a co-founder and engineering lead at Atomic. Previously, she spent five years as a machine learning engineer at Google, where she designed and implemented algorithms for YouTube’s personalized recommendation system and Waymo’s self-driving vehicle. She specializes in applying novel ML techniques on large-scale systems that impact billions of users worldwide. She has several academic publications in ACM. In addition to creating large scale data-driven systems, Emma is passionate about privacy and cybersecurity: her work at Stanford involved co-founding Stanford’s first competing cybersecurity organization (Stanford Applied Cybersecurity) and supporting investigations of privacy and internet crimes at the California DOJ. Emma earned her BSc. and MSc. in Computer Science from Stanford University, specializing in Artificial Intelligence.
