Geoff is an experienced business executive and director.

With a beginning in commercial banking, Geoff became a specialist in tax-advantaged finance, project finance and then cross-border banking. Given his experience, connections, and ability to identify and hire talent, he was instrumental/responsible for the development and growth of commercial banking at two international banks. At ABN-Amro/LaSalle Bank, he was responsible for its Canadian commercial banking group which was responsible for domestic and international bi-lateral and syndicated loan facilities with public and private companies across Canada.

Between 2008 and 2016, Geoff joined a boutique advisory firm in Toronto where his practice focused on complex/challenging acquisitions, divestitures, debt/advisory, and financings for mid-sized Canadian corporations. He takes a personal and hands-on approach with every client he engages with, combining his technical experience and expertise to motivate and deliver tangible results.

In 2016 through late 2019, Geoff was a senior officer of a TSX company and became responsible for most of its non-mining portfolio of investments. Utilizing an active merchant-banker style, his mandate was to improve and unlock the value of a diversified portfolio of domestic and international investments and then seek out new investments with strong growth potential and ability to generate cash flow. A corporate downsizing brought increasingly more responsibilities including roles on the boards of most of the companies he oversaw. Given the requirement for substantial change and improved performance at many of these companies, Geoff worked through many challenging situations (legal, shareholder/partner, reputation, environmental, employment, and financial). Industries included: Food/Agri, Gaming/Hospitality, Oil & Gas, Real Estate, Automotive, and multiple early-stage clean-tech companies.

In May 2020, Geoff joined Bitfarms as a director and was head of its nominations/compensation committee and was a member of the finance/audit committee. Due to management changes, in August 2020, Geoff joined Bitfarms as an Executive Vice President and resigned as an independent director of the company. He is now actively involved in all aspects of its operations and quickly learning about the decentralized financial economy, crypto-currencies, BTC, and high-power computing centres.

Emiliano Grodzki is CEO and a Founder at Bitfarms, one of the largest public Bitcoin mining operations in the world that is listed on the TSX-V and Nasdaq. Founded in 2017, Emiliano brings his 20 years of experience building multi-million dollar private businesses to Bitfarms, who has 5 industrial scale facilities across Québec, Canada and is responsible for approximately 1% of the entire Bitcoin mining industry and daily Bitcoin mined.
