Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables
Ram is the head of Road Transportation at Wood Mackenzie, based in the company’s Houston office. He studies the evolution of global transportation to assess the impact of various commodities on the automotive industry as it trends toward de-carbonization.
Ram curates the electric vehicle (EV) subscription service, a collection of reports that delivers thought leadership, analysis, and updates about EV ownership, global policy, and consumer preferences. The service provides a long-term outlook, examining the next 30 years and how EV ownership will affect global oil consumption and related industries. It explores the winners and losers of the upcoming EV revolution, as world governments push toward carbon neutrality.
Ram’s 15 years of experience in the automotive industry have given him a wealth of knowledge in EV manufacturing, operations, and costs, as well as the impact of EVs on complying with government-mandated fleet fuel economy regulations. Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie, he spent six years at Ford Motor Co., specializing in hybrid and electric vehicles.
Ram holds a master’s degree in engineering management from Wayne State University, an MS in automotive systems from the University of Michigan – Dearborn, and a BS in mechanical engineering from Anna University.
Ram has participated in Habitat for Humanity projects in the Detroit area and has spoken at conferences given by the Society of Automotive Engineers, of which he is a member.
