EA Sports unveiled San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey as the cover athlete for Madden NFL 25.
The game, from Electronic Arts Inc‘s EA, is slated for release on Aug. 16. It will be available across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
McCaffrey’s appearance marks the sixth time a running back has graced the cover of a Madden game. He joins a prestigious list including Adrian Peterson, Barry Sanders, Peyton Hillis, Marshall Faulk, and Eddie George.

“To be on the cover of Madden NFL is a career achievement and an honor I share with all of my teammates, coaches, and 49er Faithful who have helped make it possible,” McCaffrey said.
He added his excitement to return to the field and provide Madden players with more reasons to enjoy scoring touchdowns with him in the game.
McCaffrey’s leading the league in rushing with 2,023 scrimmage yards solidified his position as one of the NFL’s top running backs.
He also boasted the highest number of touches (339) and combined rushing and receiving touchdowns (21). Additionally, McCaffrey equaled a league record by scoring touchdowns in 17 consecutive games, earning him Offensive Player of the Year honors and a finalist spot for NFL MVP.
Pre-orders for Madden NFL 25 are now open. The Deluxe Edition offers early access three days prior to the official release for $100. For enthusiasts planning to purchase both Madden NFL 25 and College Football 25, the MVP Bundle is available for $150. It comprises Deluxe Editions for both games.
