Joel Rassman, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Toll Brothers Inc TOL, passed away early Tuesday. Rassman had been the CFO of the company since 1984. He had served as a member of the board since 1996. Executive Chairman Robert Toll said, "As we announced in December of 2008, he faced serious illness. He struggled mightily and was a model of determination for all of us. He personally planned for the next generation of financial leaders of the company." Shares of Delta Air Lines DAL rose about 6.01% after the company said it expects a rise of more than 15% in the unit revenue for the third quarter. As per a federal filing, the company projects its operating margin within the range of 12% to 13%. US Tech stocks moved higher, with Hewlett-Packard Co HPQ and Cisco Systems Inc CSCO as the top gainers in the list. Shares of CSCO gained about 3.01% after the company’s Chief Executive John Chambers announced detailed plans to start a dividend in the year 2011. Shares of HPQ rose about 3.74%, while Dell Inc DELL moved up about 0.9%. Airline stocks moved up today. The top gainers in the list were Continental Airlines CAL, US Airways LCC and Alaska Air ALK, JetBlue Airways JBLU and Southwest Airlines LUV. The NYSE Arca Airline Index (XAL) rose about 2.01%.
