The Lawsuits Keep On Coming (AAPL)

The summer drama just doesn't stop for Apple, Inc. AAPL. After Apple settled with Minerva Industries over its claim that the iPhone used technology patented by Minerva, Apple recently discovered that they are being sued again -- this time by Emblaze. Emblaze, an Israeli technology company, announced yesterday that it was suing Apple for allegedly using its media streaming patent and refusing to license technology Emblaze says it invented over a decade ago. According to Emblaze, the company warned Apple that their HTTP live streaming application used in many of their products would violate their patent for such technology. Apple shares have taken a bit of a tumble since the news, but it's hard to discern if this suit alone is having any major impact considering other market forces and economic data being released. Apple is down $0.24 today, or 0.09%, to $257.87 as of 10:35AM, after closing Wednesday at $260.96.
