Clearwater Nets Higher Analytics with Netezza Appliance

Netezza Corporation NZ, the global leader in data warehouse, analytic and monitoring appliances, today announced that Clearwater Seafoods Limited, a leader in the global seafood industry, has deployed Netezza's data warehouse appliance as its enterprise data warehouse (EDW) to gain deeper insights into its data through the company's dashboard and provide a holistic view of the company's operations. Netezza's data warehouse appliance enables Clearwater to incorporate data from various sources in order to provide different user organizations throughout the company with a single, comprehensive view of the business' operations. Clearwater brought its first data warehouse application into production within two months of receiving the appliance. “As our business continues to expand globally, keeping tabs on our supply chain is extremely important,” said Fran MacDonald, Manager of System Development of Clearwater Seafoods Limited. “With the Netezza data warehouse appliance, Clearwater has moved from having a stovepipe view of the world – where each group only saw its own data – to an enterprise view of the company. We're better equipped to make business decisions by evaluating the profitability of each product based on inventory, value, margins, and supply and demand. It's really been a cultural revolution for us.” “In order to gain a competitive edge, it's critical that retailers achieve a comprehensive view of their customers, inventory and other parts of their business,” said Jim Kelly, vice president and GM of Retail & CPG Markets, Netezza. “By building an EDW on the Netezza appliance, Clearwater is better equipped to analyze its products and supply chain operations in order to minimize loss and improve profitability.”
