Tesla Cybertruck Lottery Sign-Up Rate Sets New Record, Indicating Huge Demand For Event And The Upcoming Truck

Tesla Inc TSLA VP of Investor Relations Martin Viecha said on Wednesday that the EV giant received the most number of signups for its Cybertruck delivery event lottery than any other Tesla lottery though it was launched less than a week ago. The high sign-up reveals increased anticipation for the vehicle and more so for the event itself.

What Happened: “1 month to go! Highest (attendee) lottery sign-up rate ever,” Viecha wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Viecha also re-shared his post from Cybertruck unveiling event. “I’m sure people found the CyberTruck design highly unexpected, I certainly did when I first saw it. This could potentially be Tesla's “Lamborghini Countach moment” – a car revealed in the 70s that completely redefined its segment for decades to come. We shall see…,” he wrote in November 2019.

Why It Matters: Only last week, Tesla launched the Cybertruck Delivery Event shareholder lottery to determine which shareholders will be attending the much-awaited event to be held at Gigafactory Texas on Nov. 30.

Only a limited number of shareholders will be able to attend the event in person owing to limited capacity, the company said on its website.

"To maximize fairness, we are conducting a random drawing to determine shareholders’ eligibility to attend. Shareholders with active shares as of September 30, 2023 may apply," Tesla wrote.

According to data from a crowd-sourced online reservation tracker for the Cybertruck, net reservations for the vehicle have now crossed the two million threshold.
