YouTube Pranksters Dupe Tucker Carlson With Fake Interview Claiming Insider Knowledge Of Kate Middleton Photo Controversy

Tucker Carlson was pranked by two YouTube personalities who claimed to have an exclusive interview with the Kensington Palace digital content producer responsible for the heavily edited Mother’s Day photo of Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, and her children.

What Happened: The prank was orchestrated by Josh Pieters and Archie Manners, who convinced Carlson that they had secured an interview with the disgruntled employee who had been fired for the photo’s poor editing.

The duo, in a video posted on X and their YouTube channel, presented Manners as the ex-employee, complete with fake palace employment papers and what they claimed to be the original, unedited photo, reported MSNBC.

They even included a clause in the fake employment contract that allowed the employer to amputate a limb of their choosing if the employee failed their probationary period, a detail that Carlson’s team missed. Manners was then interviewed by Carlson via teleconference from a London studio.

The video has garnered over 1.2 million views on X and has over 73,000 views on YouTube.

Meanwhile, Carlson has not posted the interview to his streaming service, the Tucker Carlson Network. It is unclear if Carlson would have released the interview had the pranksters not made it public.

Why It Matters: This incident is not the first time Carlson has been the subject of online mockery. In February, a Russian YouTuber with over 12 million subscribers ridiculed Carlson for his lack of understanding of currency and the use of locks on shopping carts, a common practice in Europe that is also becoming increasingly popular in the U.S.

Carlson’s recent gaffe comes on the heels of a Photoshop fail by the British Royal Family, which released a heavily edited photo of Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, sparking further controversy. The photo, released on the Prince and Princess of Wales' Instagram page, raised eyebrows due to its apparent heavy editing. The image, which features Middleton and her family, has been described as "unsettling" and "incredible in its ineptitude."
