Friday's After-Hours Movers: NCR, PayPal, Tallgrass Energy, BioCryst, Mesabi

Let’s take a look at Friday’s after-hours movers.

The biggest gainer on Friday afternoon is Tallgrass Energy GP LP TEGP, which is trading up more than 4.4 percent, at $31.21, recuperating much of the ground lost during the trading session, when it fell 5.26 percent. No particular news seems to be moving the stock in the afternoon, however.

In the NASDAQ exchange, BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. BCRX is surging the most in after-hours. After an almost-flat day, the stock rose about 2.5 percent since the bell rang, once again, on no particular news.

NCR Corporation NCR, which surged 2.56 percent during Friday trading, continues to rise in after-hours, reacting to a Reuters article that claims that privately-held Thoma Bravo LLC is considering making a bid of approximately $9 billion, including debt, for NCR.

The note reminds investors about last month’s bid. Blackstone Group LP BX, also up in after-hours,and The Carlyle Group LP CG, the world's largest private equity firms, had decided to join forces to outbid other interested buyers, sources had said at the time.

“While Blackstone and Carlyle remain interested in NCR, they have carried out further due diligence and are now skeptical over whether they can offer enough for a successful bid,” the Reuters article reads.

On the other hand, micro-cap royalty trust Mesabi Trust MSB is the biggest loser of the afternoon. The stock is down more than 5.5 percent, to $11.50, in after-hours, following the announcement that the company declared a distribution of $0.04 per unit, down from $0.32 per unit, year-over-year.

Finally, recently spun-off Paypal Holdings Inc PYPLV, is up almost 1 percent in after-hours trading, after losing 0.62 percent during its first day of trading.
