Anaheim Ducks team captain Ryan Getzlaf and his wife Paige will host the 9th Annual Getzlaf Golf Shootout presented by ActivePDF and Auction.com at Monarch Beach Resort on Friday, September 6, and Saturday, September 7, 2019, announced event organizer and beneficiary, nonprofit CureDuchenne. The Saturday golf tournament follows the highly anticipated star-studded MVP Party that will be held at TIME Nightclub in Costa Mesa. The Getzlaf Golf Shootout brings together Anaheim Ducks players, celebrities, Orange County philanthropists and business leaders to help raise funds to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the most common and sever form of muscular dystrophy that primarily affects boys. Event details and purchase of sponsorship and individual tickets to the MVP party, can found at: https://www.cureduchenne.org/getzlafgolf/.

"Paige and I are thrilled to be part of the Getzlaf Golf Shootout. When we embarked on this journey with CureDuchenne nine years ago we had no idea we would make such a strong impact. To date, the event has helped raise nearly $2.5 million to help find a cure for Duchenne. The funds raised go directly to CureDuchenne investments into promising science that move the needle closer and closer to a cure every day. We could not be prouder," said Ryan Getzlaf. "Duchenne is a devastating disease that cuts short the lives of boys and young men around the world, and we want to do everything we can to help find a cure."

"The Getzlafs, Ducks players and management have been incredibly generous by lending their support to this event and we are grateful. Funds raised over the years have been crucial in our quest to find a cure for Duchenne," said Debra Miller, founder and CEO, CureDuchenne. "With scientific developments in gene therapy and gene editing advancing quickly around the world, every dollar raised and invested into cutting edge science makes a big difference, and we look forward to continuing to work with the fantastic team that make the Getzlaf Golf Shootout a success."

The two-day event kicks off with an MVP party at TIME Nightclub with silent and live auctions. At the golf tournament the following day each golf foursome will be matched with a Ducks player or other celebrity. Golfers can also participate in a million-dollar hole-in-one, three additional hole-in-one opportunities with luxury automobiles provided by CNC Motors, massage therapists, Anaheim Ducks Power Players with t-shirt launchers, giveaways by Violent Gentlemen, and more.

Sponsors for this year's shootout include: ActivePDF, Auction.com, CNC Motors, FR Construction, G&M Oil, WHGC, The Sports Corporation, Air Control Systems, Pacific Premier Bank, Sterling Carpet and Flooring, Judith Barham, ExpiTrans, Central Coast Disc Golf, Wayne Farms, Patman Meat Group, Joseph Martelli Real Estate Investments, Ayres Hotels, Western Overseas, Master Builders of America, David MacInnis, Commercial Roof Management Inc. and ICM Financial.
