Apple's Watch Series 9 Might Revive The Beloved Classic Buckle Strap Band

While there are rumors that the upcoming Apple Watch Series 9 will not bring any significant upgrade this time, whisperings from the tech community hint that a new watch band might steal the spotlight at Apple Inc.'s AAPL September event.

Apple's new wearables are expected to bring a dash of extra speed from a new chip, a new pink variant for Series 9, and a broody black for Ultra 2, but the real zest might be in the band. Apple seems to be upping its wrist game to make these watches cosmetically more appealing.

What Happened: According to Kosutami on Twitter, Apple will debut a new watch band this time. The new strap will reportedly feature “weaved fabric materials and a magnetic buckle.”

A sleek strap touted to feature woven fabric materials and a magnetic buckle is said to be new to the party this time. If that rings a bell, it sounds eerily similar to the Modern Buckle band from 2015. Despite being loved by many, it bid us farewell in 2018 (we never really got a reason), and the style world has beckoned it back.

But hold onto your hats because September promises a whirlwind of Apple surprises. With the iPhone 15 and new Apple Watches on the horizon, this blast from the past band might be the sweet nudge for those contemplating if it’s upgrade time. It would be better if these bands are backward compatible with older Apple Watches, which seems likely if the rumors are true.
