Pha is working on legislation to ensure young Minnesotans have a say in issues like preventing cannabis packaging that appeals to youth. She emphasizes the importance of youth representation on the Cannabis Advisory Council, aiming for two dedicated seats for individuals aged 18 to 25. With recreational marijuana legalization in August 2023, the state is gearing up to establish 381 dispensaries to meet the demand for retail shops. The initiative aims to promote responsible cannabis use and prevent targeting of young consumers in the emerging marketplace.
