HPQ To Buy ARST For $1.5 Billion

Hewlett-Packard Company HPQ has agreed to buy ArcSight Inc ARST in a $1.5 billion deal. The deal is HPQ's second substantial purchase in the past two weeks, following the company's acquisition of 3PAR PAR. Last month HP acquired software security vendor Fortify Software. HPQ reported that the ARST acquisition will give its customers control to actively supervise real-time issues, measure risks and react to threats quickly. HPQ is offering $43.50 a share for ArcSight's shares. HPQ shares lost 0.37% to $38.06 at 1:28 pm. Read more from Benzinga's Company news.
