Ivanka Trump‘s father-in-law, Charles Kushner, who Donald Trump once pardoned, donated a significant $1 million to the former president’s leading super PAC.
What Happened: Kushner’s donation was one of the largest the super PAC has received from an individual contributor through the end of June, Business Insider reported.
The donation comes at a crucial time as Trump and his allies have been burning through cash, much of it devoted to legal fees.
Why It Matters: Kushner, who pleaded guilty in 2004 to federal charges, including witness tampering and tax evasion, was the recipient of one of the former president’s final pardons.
Chris Christie, the overseer of the case and a 2024 GOP presidential candidate had described it as “one of the most loathsome, disgusting crimes” he had ever prosecuted.
Meanwhile, Jared Kushner‘s uncle and aunt, Murray and Lee Kushner, made maximum contributions to the 2024 presidential bid of Christie. The couple donated $6,600 to Christie's campaign, according to Federal Election Commission filings.
