In a report published on Monday, Piper Jaffray analyst Michael E. Cox upgraded the Rating on Monsanto MON from Buy to Overweight and raised the Price Target to $135.
In the report, Piper Jaffary noted that, "Our channel checks with growers and seed dealers is showing strong uptake of Monsanto's refuge-in-a-bag corn seed, which we believe provides an important lift to the price/mix equation...For MON, this means stable pricing for RoundUp herbicide and depleted channel inventory at season end – both of which provide support to segment level margins for MON."
Monsanto closed on Friday at $108.38 and is currently trading up 0.16 percent since market open hours.
