Apple Inc. AAPL moved in two different directions during Monday afternoon's much-anticipated product event.
The stock rose nearly 2 percent after Tim Cook and other executives unveiled HBO Now, but shares quickly erased those gains when Cook shed details on the Apple Watch.
How's social media reacting to the new product line?
Many, many users are negative:
Poor battery life, expensive and no GPS on it... #AppleWatch

Would you rather buy a Rolex or an Apple Watch for $10,000. Don't need to upgrade the Rolex in two years and battery lasts months.

The Apple Watch Sport bands just look so plasticky. They seem like the crappy iPhone 5c of the Apple Watch world.

The gold #AppleWatch Edition is a barbarous relic.

Others are making jokes:
From Verge: "This video is strongly implying Apple Watch steel is forged in the fires of Mount Doom"

The Apple Watch may become so addictive it keeps people from looking at what's truly important in life, like their iPhones.

There are users, though, who are upbeat:
ME: I need an Apple Watch. ADAM: Why? It's stupid. What are you going to do with that? ME: You don't understand. You don't remember the 80s.
