American Public Education, Inc. Goes Above Expectations for 3Q10

Sterne Agee published its research report on American Public Education, Inc. APEI this morning which discussed 3Q10 results. APEI had an increase in revenue/EPS of $48.3M/$0.30 which were 32% and 11% gains respectively. Both revenue and EPS were above consensus estimates of $47.3M/$0.29. In regards to 4Q10 guidance Sterne Agee writes, "Due to the reasons mentioned above, the company provided stronger-than-expected 4Q EPS guidance of $0.45-$0.47 versus consensus of $0.44. SAL estimate was $0.48." APEI has a Buy rating and closed Monday at $27.07.
