AMC Networks Inc AMCX is sticking with Saul...but in a new way.
Bob Odenkirk who plays the morally questionable lawyer Saul Goodman on "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul" is now attached to headline "The Night of the Gun." The six-episode limited series will adapt the autobiography of the late David Carr, one of the most respected reporters to ever write for The New York Times.
Carr, who sadly and unexpectedly passed away last year, famously overcame his demons and chronicled his journey in a popular 2008 novel. Shawn Ryan, the man behind the Emmy-winning "The Shield," will be among the writers bringing Carr's life story to the small screen.
AMC just recently saw success with the limited-run drama "The Night Manager," so it's no surprise the network is looking to continue down that road. The network is having similar luck on the original series side as on Monday it was also announced former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan has signed on to topline new drama "The Son."
