According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Wynn Resorts Ltd. WYNN is joining forces with PokerStars. The deal will allow Wynn and PokerStars to operate an online gambling site in the United States, but only if federal legislation paves the way. The Las Vegas Review-Journal said that Wynn, which operates casinos in Vegas and Macau, is working to “secure passage of federal Internet gaming legislation.” If legislation is approved, the two companies would reportedly seek a joint gaming license in the U.S. Further, the Las Vegas Review-Journal quoted Wynn's chairman, Steve Wynn, who said that he is now convinced that Internet gaming is taking place in the U.S. and that it was time to legalize the activity. "As a company that has safely conducted gaming in the US for more than 40 years, we believe that the same can be done for poker on the Internet," Wynn told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "Additionally, it is time that the thousands of jobs created by this business and the potentially significant tax dollars come home to the U.S."
