Mashable is reporting that Facebook's “awesome” new product launch next week will be a Skype-powered video chatting service for the social network (not an iPad app as previously rumored). Facebook's Seattle office was behind the video chat service, according to the report. Skype and Facebook have been partners for quite some time now – Facebook is integrated deeply into Skype already.
Obviously without a doubt, the video chatting service on Facebook will make the competition between Google's recently launched Google+ social network, which includes Hangouts, a video chat service, even more extensive.
Neither Skype nor Facebook commented on this apparently “confirmed” report. Would you use video chatting on Facebook? Let us know in the comments below!
