Apple has begun issuing emails regarding the recall of a "very small number" of 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMac, aptly naming the program, "iMac 1 TB Seagate Hard Drive Replacement Program." It offers very little info on the actual problems, stating that it fails under certain conditions and that they were distributed between May 2011 and July 2011. Apple Stores and authorized resellers will replace the unit free of charge.
This announcement comes cleverly after the release of Apple's record setting third quarter and the release of it's highly anticipated eighth major release of its desktop OS, OS X Lion, so as not to hurt its stock.
