Now that the transition between the second- and third-generation iPads is over, Apple will be able to increase its sales numbers and push more tablets in the third quarter.
That's according to James D. Ragan, a senior equity analyst at Crowell, Weedon & Co., who told Benzinga that while he expects iPhone sales to experience a slight decline, iPad sales should increase.
"We're estimating higher iPad sales in the third quarter," said Ragan. "The quarter had the transition to the new iPad, so there's always some inventory adjustment in getting prepared for the new launch. Now with a full quarter of iPad and the international launch as well, you should see a sequential increase in iPad sales, while the iPhone we think will fall a little bit. The company even talked about that."
Earlier this week, Apple AAPL announced that it had sold 11.8 million iPads and 35.1 million iPhones, beating estimates.
