Sunedison Inc SUNE shares got a plug from activist investor David Einhorn at an investors conference Friday, according to several news reports.
The conference, sponsored by New York's posh anti-poverty charity called the Robin Hood Foundation, is closed to reporters but frequently features high-profile investors as speakers.
Einhorn also reportedly plugged TerraForm Power Inc. TERP at the conference where his talk had been slated for 11:15 a.m. at Midtown's Grand Hyatt Hotel.
TerraForm was up more than 9 percent recently to $27.38 a share; Sunedison gained nearly 8 percent to $17.92 a share. Both companies operate in the solar power industry.
Business Insider reported that Einhorn also discussed Greek-based Alpha Bank A.E.
ALBKY and Piraeus Bank SA BPIRY.

Alpha's depositary shares gained more than 11 percent recently and Piraeus gained more than 5 percent.
