What Bothers Investors The Most? It's Kanye West, Not Trump Or Oil Or Even Martin Shkreli

There’s plenty of things happening in global markets these days for investors to be bothered about. Benzinga recently took to Twitter to ask investors about four headlines to see which one is bothering them the most:

  • 1. A celebrity Republican presidential frontrunner with no political experience that has been accused of blatant sexist and racist comments
  • 2. A pharmaceutical company CEO who has been price gouging AIDS patients and children with kidney disease
  • 3. A crude oil market that is so oversupplied that it has completely shut down the U.S. shale oil industry
  • - OR -
  • 4. An egotistical and delusional multi-platinum rapper who has somehow managed to accrue $53 million in personal debt

According to Benzinga’s Twitter poll, the frustration and bewilderment surrounding Kanye West’s financial problems bother investors most of all, coming in at 44 percent.

It’s hard to say exactly what bothers people the most about West. However, with many Americans struggling through multiple jobs to try to make enough money to make ends meet, the fact that a multi-millionaire can blow through all his money so haphazardly probably strikes a nerve.

The self-proclaimed “creative genius” and his "superior intellect" clearly don’t extend to the financial side of the music business.
