Tesla Traders Are All Over The Map

The majority of stocks are off to a rough start in 2016, and Tesla Motors Inc TSLA is no exception.

With Tesla’s stock down 22.7 percent on the year, which prices are stock traders now watching closely?

According to data from Call Levels, traders now have Tesla price notification points centered around the $188 level. Maybe it should come as no surprise that the volatile stock has Call Level users scratching their heads when it comes to which levels to watch. Nearly a month ago, Tesla traders were watching levels near $200. That level dipped below $150 by Feb 9, only to recover back to around $190 by the beginning of March.

Perhaps traders now see $188 as a key technical level to watch.

Tesla bulls could see a push above $188 as an indication that the stock is headed back above $200 in the near future. On the other hand, the stock’s recent move below $188 could be an indication that Tesla is headed back down to February lows near $140.

If there’s one thing that seems like a safe bet for Tesla, it’s that traders will likely be in for a wild ride in coming weeks. Many of them are anticipating that the $188 level will play an important role.
