Julian Assange Is Out.. Ugh

Julian Assange was released for bail and the bail is set at $315,000 (200,000 pounds). Assange is required to wear an ankle bracelet, and he has to check in with police daily. My thoughts? Ugh. Yes I know WikiLeaks is more than one person, but I also know that former WikiLeaks employees have left the company and started their own cable releasing company, OpenLeaks.org. This is a direct action of Assange becoming a larger than life character, and honestly, I'm tired of hearing about him. What he has done is deplorable with regards to releasing U.S. sentiments about other countries. You don't know the context in which they were said, and opinions may have changed from the time the cables were transcribed to now. All it's going to do is cause more distrust amongst governments, and that isn't something we need now. Could it potentially cause North Korea and Iran to perhaps change their outlook and M.O. if they knew their "allies" weren't allies at all? (see China, and Saudi Arabia's actual thoughts) Yes, absolutely. I do believe there is the potential for "some" good here, but ultimately I believe the benefits are outweighed by the bad. The only set of cables that I really care about is what WikiLeaks has on UFO's. Supposedly, Assange and his team have documents on this matter. Other than that, I just say UGH and please let's move on.
