Meredith Whitney: Now Is The Time For Strategic Acquisitions

On CNBC this morning, banking analyst Meredith Whitney spoke about the possibility of J.P. Morgan JPM and other large banks' ability to pay out dividends, and how soon that day may come. The interesting thing, she said, is that these banks have a choice. But the choice they should make has more to do with the corporation's long-term success. “This is the time that you make long-term strategic acquisitions,” she said, recommending that banks look to Asia. It'll be expensive in the short-term, she warned, but in the long-term it could be a solid investment.
