Yet again, we're sliding through the busy week with several corporate shake-ups in the cannabis industry.
Eighth Icon Holdings Welcomes Tom Harrison To Board
Eighth Icon Holdings has appointed Tom Harrison to its board of directors.
Harrison, who received the Medical Advertising Hall of Fame award, serves as a Senior Operating Partner at Merida Capital Partners. He is also Chairman Emeritus of Diversified Agency Services, an Omnicom Group's division.
During his 17 years in the company, DAS became Omnicom's largest division, generating more than $6 billion in revenue.
Harrison also serves as the independent director on the boards of a cannabis REIT — Advanced Flower Capital, and a cannabis multi-state operator — DEVI Holdings.
Eighth Icon CEO Jonathan Black said that Harrison would "strengthen" their board, adding he would "lean on his experience to grow our value and strengthen our position in the marketplace."
Harborside Taps Peter Kampian To Its Board
Harborside Inc. has tapped Peter Kampian to its board on the heels of reporting its first-quarter earnings.
Kampian brings years of financial executive experience as he served in several Canadian public companies, as well as several private companies.
He led financial departments for Algonquin Power Income Fund, Mettrum Health Corp., and DionyMed Holdings Inc., which is now Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp AQN.
Currently, Kampian serves on James E. Wagner Cultivation Corporation’s special committee, and it’s the company’s director.
Peter Bilodeau, Chairman, and interim CEO, thanked Kampian on “on behalf of the entire team,” adding he “brings a wealth of experience in both capital markets and the cannabis industry.”
The company also said that Lisah Poore would step down from the role of Chief Retail Officer on Aug. 28.
Ayr Strategies Appoints New Heads Of Investor Relations and Human Resources
Vertically-integrated cannabis company Ayr Strategies also made some changes to its leadership team.
The Toronto-based multi-state operator said Wednesday it welcomed Glenn Isaacson to its board of directors. It also hired Megan Kulick as its new Head of Investor Relations and promoted Karen Rinaldi to the Head of Human Resources.
The news is coming on the heels of the company's latest report and an update on some Pennsylvania assets' ongoing acquisition, including six dispensaries and a cultivation and processing facility.
Isaacson currently serves as Cushman & Wakefield's Vice Chairman. He also serves on the board of the American Foundation for AIDS Research.
Megan Kulick is a Wall Street veteran with years of experience in the cannabis industry.
Ayr CEO Jon Sandelman said he is "thrilled" to welcome new members to their team.
Key Investment Expands Its Advisory Board
KEY Investment Partners LLC, which recently secured the financing for Front Range Biosciences and springbig, appointed three new members to its Advisory Board.
John Martin is Antares Capital's former CEO and Managing Partner. He also serves as Senior Advisor at Victory Park Capital Advisors and is a board member of the Center for American Entrepreneurship.
Brent Johnson, who serves as CEO of Hoban Law Group, worked in MAZAKALI as General Counsel, and First Capital Ventures as EVP, Managing Director, and General Counsel.
The former head of Canopy Growth's THC strategy group, Mike Hartman, also served as an Executive Director for the Colorado Department of Revenue.
Key's board now counts seven members, including Sarah Gersten, the General Counsel of The Last Prisoner Project; Simplifya CEO Marion Mariathasan; Earl Gallegos Management founder Earl Gallegos; and Roy Bingham, the Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of KEY portfolio company BDSA.
Former Aurora Cannabis' CPO Joins CTT's Advisory Board
CTT Pharmaceutical Holdings Inc. CTTH, a drug delivery technology development company with a focus on the cannabis industry, appointed Dr. Shane Morris to its advisory board.
Morris agreed to advise on the regulatory issues, as well as product and market development, the company said Thursday.
He is the former Chief Product Officer at Aurora Cannabis. While there, he also oversaw a regulatory affairs team.
"I have always been a strong believer in the benefits and global commercial prospects of the CTT strips," commented Morris.
CTT's CEO Cam Birge is "pleased" Morris opted to join them, adding that his "deep network throughout the global cannabis industry is an asset we can lever to help rapidly expand our commercial reach."
