Canadian cannabis and hemp company Canopy Growth Corp. WEED CGC disclosed Friday that it’s set to open ten stores in Alberta.
The Smith Falls, Ontario-based company confirmed the launching of six retail locations under the Tokyo Smoke brand name in Calgary and Spruce Grove.
In addition, it will open four Tweed stores in Calgary, Lethbridge, and Edmonton.
The company noted they are committed to developing the “community outreach and programming” that way supporting and educating costumers in the communities they operate in.
By expanding its retail presence in the Alberta market, the company is getting closer to the milestone of 30 retail cannabis stores in Western Canada.
Moreover, the new stores bring the number of Canopy’s retail banners within the country to 50.
“With ten new stores set to open and additional locations in the pipeline, we are thrilled to announce this milestone and excited to bring the Tokyo Smoke and Tweed guest experiences to Alberta for the first time,” Canopy Growth’s General Manager for Canada, Grant Caton, said in a statement.
They are “excited to share our knowledge and industry leadership” within Alberta, Caton added.
Meanwhile, last year, the company said it’s poised to launch hemp facilities across seven U.S. states in 2020.
