Hewlett-Packard HPQ has raised its bid for 3Par PAR to $27 per share from its earlier unsolicited offer of $24 per share. Yesterday, 3Par said that it has reached a new deal with Dell DELL for $24.30 per share. Dell had also reached a deal with PAR in the last week, before the bid by HPQ. HPQ’s shares fell 0.58% to $38.00, while PAR’s shares gained 6.80% to $27.80 in after-hours trading. DELL’s shares lost 0.09% to $11.74 in after-hours trading.
Wall Street expects Tiffany TIF to post its Q2 EPS of $0.53. TIF’s shares rose 0.86% to $42.40 in the after-hours trading session.
Novell Inc NOVL announced its FQ3 net income of $0.04 per share, down from $0.05 per share, in the year-ago period. The company’s revenue fell to $199 million, from $216.1 million, in the year-ago period. Novell reported its earnings at $0.06 per share, after excluding special items. NOVL’s shares moved down 0.18% to $5.63 in after-hours trading.
J Crew Group Inc JCG posted its net income to $0.53 per share, up from $0.29 per share, in the year-ago period. The company’s revenue increased 14% y/y to $407.5 million. Store sales grew 14% to $295.0 million, while comparable store sales rose 11%. This compares with a 5% decline in comparable store sales in the second quarter of fiscal 2009. The company has also lowered its earnings outlook for FY10 to a range of $2.25 to $2.35 per share, from its earlier range of $2.35 to $2.45 per share. JCG’s shares fell 6.52% to $31.25 in the after-hours trading session.
