Steve Yankovich, head of eBay's EBAY mobile efforts has seriously revamped the company's approach to mobile business throughout his less than 2 year tenure.
Since he's come on board, eBay users have gained expanded functionality, most notably the ability to process payments for auctions using mobile apps, and have spent $600 million doing so.
PC World has recently reported that Yankovich is planning on launching enhancements to eBay's apps that will include a QR scanner, augmented reality features, and the ability to begin listings.
eBay plans to be a primary source of mobile commerce. PC World quoted Yankovich saying, "I want to replace Google as the de facto 'Where do I start?'"
eBay is currently trading up 3.48%, at $24.35 per share.
