White Apple iPhone 4 in Production: Source (AAPL)

Industry sources are asserting that Apple

is beginning production of the long-delayed white iPhone 4, signaling a possible early summer launch. The white iPhone 4 was initially announced with the black iPhone 4 last year, but was never supplied to consumers due to manufacturing issues. A source, declining to be named because the information was not public, told Reuters that Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd, flagship of Taiwan's Foxconn Technology Group, would assemble the white iPhone. Apple's Senior Vice-President of Marketing Phil Schiller said in a Twitter post in March that the white iPhone 4 would be available for sale by Spring. Apple Inc. designs, manufactures and markets a range of personal computers, mobile communication and media devices, and portable digital music players, and sells a range of related software, services, peripherals, networking solutions, and third-party digital content and applications. Shares closed higher by 1.1% on Wednesday, to $336.13.
