Facebook Approaching 700 Millionth User

If Sony SNE could go back in time and re-market The Social Network with current information, the film's tagline would have read, “You can't make 700 million friends without making a few enemies.” That's right Facebook users, Business Insider reports that the social network that everyone loves (and loves to hate) is about to get its 700 millionth user. The news comes from Socialbakers, a Facebook statistics portal. While the United States is the number-one country on Facebook with more than 149 million users, Brazil is currently seeing the most growth, rising 11.37% in May. Indonesia, Philippines, Mexico, Argentina, India, Colombia, Egypt, Turkey, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Germany, Italy, Venezuela, Peru, Belgium, Chile, Thailand, Spain and Japan round out the rest of the top 20. In April, Indonesia, Philippines, Mexico and Argentina saw the most growth on Facebook.
